Stone Sculptures

Rather than finding a figure in the stone, my work is me, finding myself through the stone; a matter of the psyche and of nature- copying nature, even.

This so-called direct-carving method, is how I see. Things simply happen that are not simple surprise, but of great significance to the whole process. This is the uncanny, the dada, and the surreal, and is that which makes us all human.

In keeping with my humanity, these moments of deeply-seeing is where the archetypal images emerge, hence the origin of the names much of my work ends up with- dada!
